Previously, when you apply for a job through the Glints app, you must be familiar with the UI as shown below

We introduce you to the latest update to help you on getting a job smoothing, called "Nearby" feature.

"Nearby" is the feature that you can utilize when looking for a job. This feature helps you to find a job based on the nearby location that you have set initially.

Benefits of Using "Nearby"

• Flexible – You can freely set the location to find job vacancies closest to you.

• Time & cost efficient – This directly affects your commute duration, making it shorter and reducing transportation expenses.

• More comfortable – You don’t need to travel long distances that could make you tired during the journey.

• Broader job exploration – Indirectly, you can start exploring job vacancies or companies near your location while also opening opportunities to connect with people in that area.

How to Use "Nearby"

Make sure that you have downloaded the Glints app with the latest version. After login, you can go to "Nearby" menu.

If this is your first time using it, you can click "Set Location" to get started.

You can set your location manually by choosing the pinpoint of your preferred location. When you are finished, click "Save".

Moving forward, you can start to apply a job nearby location that you have choosen!

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the “Nearby” feature different from other preferences (such as FYP, Latest, etc.) in the “Jobs” menu?

The feature in the “Nearby” menu mentioned above is a priority preference, where jobs are shown based on the job field and general location you selected when creating your account or editing your Profile. This is different from the “Nearby” feature, which focuses on displaying jobs available within certain radius based on the location you have set. Similar to the “Jobs” menu, you can also set your preferred job field to see relevant jobs within your chosen location.

Can I change the location I previously set?

Of course! Just like before, go to the “Nearby” menu, then click the Home icon in the top right corner. From there, set your location using the pinpoint you prefer, then click Save.

Will my location automatically change when I move to another area?

No. Your location will remain as you previously set it, even if you are in a different area while using Glints app. This also applies if you log in from another device—the location will still follow your saved settings and won’t automatically change.
